About Theresia Mkenda

Dr. Theresia Bonifasi Mkenda is a female lecturer in Mathematics and Statistics at Mwenge Catholic University in Tanzania, with a strong academic background and a diverse set of research interests. She holds a PhD in Mathematics, a Master’s degree in Mathematical Modeling, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science Education. With a passion for advancing knowledge in both theoretical and applied fields, Dr. Mkenda 's research activities primarily focuses on Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Gender Issues in STEM and One Health. As an advocate for gender equity in academia, Dr. Mkenda currently serves as the National Secretary of the Tanzanian Women in Mathematics Association (TWM), where she actively works towards empowering women in mathematics and promoting their participation in STEM fields. In addition, she is the founder of Gifted Hands Research Training and Consultancy Company, which provides research and consultancy services with a focus on fostering the growth of young scholars and professionals in various disciplines. Dr. Mkenda is dedicated to advancing scientific research and education, especially in the areas where mathematics, statistics and artificial intelligence intersect with societal issues. Her contributions to academia are shaped by a commitment to making a positive impact, particularly in underrepresented communities and disciplines.
